On July 5, the Kosovo Parliament was evacuated following an anonymous phone call in English during which a man reported the presence of an explosive device which was set to detonate within ten minutes. The alarm was triggered during the 42nd session of the General Assembly, which has been ongoing since April 15 due to the failure to elect a new speaker. Security forces ordered the immediate evacuation of the building, including members of parliament, staff, and journalists. Meanwhile, police bomb disposal units, supported by specialists and the relevant prosecutor’s office, conducted a thorough search of the premises. No suspicious materials were found after the operation, and the alert was classified as a false alarm. However, according to the Kosovo Police, the call appears to have originated from a phone number linked to Serbia. Ongoing investigations, conducted in cooperation with international security partners, aim to identify the caller and establish the source of the threat.
