According to media releases, a possible cause has been determined during the technical assessments of the apartments affected by the recent explosion in a Turin residential building. The technical investigations may have revealed a possible initiator, which could have led to the explosion. Investigators are currently analyzing recordings from nearby video surveillance equipment. Initial evaluations indicate that the fire associated with the explosion began in an uninhabited attic. Before their absence, the property owner had reportedly secured the apartment’s utilities, and no gas cylinders or other potentially explosive materials were found on the premises. Additional progress in the investigation is expected shortly. The explosion that occurred several days ago resulted in the death of a 33-year-old resident and injuries to five other individuals.
