What happened

A 17-year-old boy from the southeastern province of Podkarpackie, who promoted Islamist terrorism online, has been charged with preparing a mass attack. The young man was arrested for promoting Jihad and inciting interfaith crimes and hatred. He is also accused of preparing an attack against a group of people to implement the policies of the Islamic State (also known as ISIS) and radical jihadist movements. The suspect was collecting and storing manuals and articles on weapons, explosives, incendiaries, and poisons. He was also gathering information on the manufacture, operation, and equipment of bombs, and the placement and detonation of explosive materials”.
He also allegedly had a list of people to be assassinated and a designated weapon to kill them, as well as notes on carrying out a terrorist attack on a school in the Podkarpackie region.
During questioning, the 17-year-old admitted to publicly inciting criminal acts against life and limb, but denied planning a terrorist attack. He is being held in pre-trial detention for three months and, if found guilty, faces up to 10 years in prison.
