The Buki France Sensory Slime toy has been urgently recalled in the UK over a “serious chemical risk”. The product contains excessive concentrations of boron, a substance that can harm children’s reproductive system. The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) said the product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011 and recommended customers who bought the item to stop using it. They should also contact the point of sale or the manufacturer to return the article and get a refund.
According to the OPSS, digestion or contact with a high quantity of boron may damage the children’s health, especially their reproductive system. The recalled batches of the sensory slime are those with barcode 3700802105374 and item number 2169. The recall notification has been issued to local authorities, who are warning citizens about the risk on social media.
