What happened

In Rome, a 57-year-old man was arrested on charges of incitement to commit crimes with terrorist intent. The investigation, coordinated by the Prosecutor’s Office – Anti-Terrorism Department and carried out by the ROS Carabinieri, uncovered a widespread campaign of anarchist-insurrectionist propaganda. The man operated two websites – “Inferno Urbano” on Altervista and a blog hosted on Noblogs – where he published content inciting hatred toward the State, law enforcement, and democratic institutions, as well as republishing claims of responsibility for attacks carried out in Italy and abroad. By order of the Investigating Judge of the Rome Court, a related Facebook profile and the domains of the websites were also seized and subsequently taken offline. The operation took place in the early hours of June 25, as part of a broader effort to combat domestic terrorism. Authorities emphasize that such online activities represent a dangerous channel for ideological dissemination, particularly due to their ability to foster radical networks.
