As per a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media branch of the Pakistani military, an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the South Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) resulted in the deaths of eleven terrorists and injuries to seven others. The security forces’ operation, which took place in the Sararogha area due to reported militant presence from the Indian Defence Group, Fitna-al-Khwarij, also led to the deaths of two soldiers, aged 27 and 37. The ISPR further stated that efforts are underway to clear the area of additional Indian-sponsored kharijis. Previously, in June, five terrorists were killed during operations in the Peshawar and North Waziristan districts of Pakistan, actions which the army characterized as ‘India-sponsored.’ Following the TTP’s termination of its cessation of hostilities with the government in November 2022, Pakistan has witnessed an escalation in terrorist activities, particularly in the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
