What happened

In Alluri Sitarama Raju (ASR) district, near Akooru village, situated within the Maredumilli forest area, an armed confrontation occurred between Greyhounds and Maoist insurgents. The engagement resulted in the deaths of three Maoists, one of whom was a high-ranking member of the CPI-Maoist Central Committee. Law enforcement sources indicate that the incident transpired during a search operation conducted in the vicinity of Rampachodavaram. Based on prior intelligence inputs, the preliminary information suggests that the combing operation was carried out. No injuries or fatalities were sustained by the police force. Security personnel recovered three AK-47 rifles from the location of the conflict.
