FC soldier and cop killed in attacks in Waziristan and Orakzai

During the performance of his duties, a member of the Pakistani Frontier Corps (FC) was fatally wounded in a firearms assault in the Ladha tehsil region of South Upper Waziristan district. Law enforcement sources indicate that, despite responsive gunfire from security personnel, the assailants successfully evaded capture. Separately, in the Ghiljo area of Orakzai district, a police constable was killed in a terrorist attack directed at a security checkpoint. An undetermined number of terrorists encircled the checkpoint and initiated an indiscriminate barrage of gunfire. An exchange of fire ensued, lasting approximately one hour, which compelled the terrorists to retreat into the adjacent mountainous terrain, where they subsequently sought refuge. Authorities have initiated a search operation to apprehend the fleeing perpetrators. Officials have confirmed that this incident represents the second assault on the aforementioned security post within the past month.
