What happened

A joint search and seizure operation carried out by the District Police Office (DPO), the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), the Quick Response Force (QRF), and the Pakistani military in Bannu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, led to the arrest of several individuals suspected of illegal activity and the seizure of a large amount of cutting-edge weaponry. Official sources informed the media that the operation had been initiated based on intelligence received concerning the presence of suspected terrorists in the Barganto and Kam Chashmi regions (Intelligence-Based Operation, IBO). Law enforcement authorities have reported the detention of forty individuals, who have been transferred to an undisclosed site for interrogation. Throughout the operation, contemporary technologies, including unmanned aerial vehicles, were employed by the police to surveil and investigate potentially compromised residences and locales within the designated area. Furthermore, the apprehension of an additional terrorist occurred during a separate search and seizure operation conducted in the Miryan region of Bannu district, as directed by district police personnel. This individual is alleged to be responsible for a minimum of eight homicides related to terrorist activities since 2009.
