A series of close-range attacks involving explosives and live ammunition have been perpetrated against civilians and military personnel in Balochistan, Pakistan. According to local sources, a member of the security forces was killed in a gunfight in Dera Bugti, Sui Tehsil Bazaar. A search operation has been launched to locate the perpetrators. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the shooting. The motive remains unclear. Meanwhile, a local police station was set on fire in the Mastung district, causing extensive structural damage. There were no casualties or injuries. This prompted the security forces to retaliate, forcing the militants to flee. According to officials, a passing car triggered an improvised explosive device (IED) planted on the edge of the road on the outskirts of Quetta in the hours that followed, killing two brothers and injuring nine others. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, and security agencies are continuing to investigate.
