What happened

According to a statement made by Indian Home Minister Amit Shah on social media, security forces conducted an operation on Karreguttalu Hill, located on the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border, which resulted in the deaths of 31 Maoist insurgents. This three-week operation, targeting the remaining elements of the Naxalite insurgency, was focused on the Karreguttalu hills, identified as the headquarters responsible for providing the insurgents with weaponry and strategic instruction. No further details of the operation were disclosed. Government records indicate that Indian military personnel have eliminated a minimum of 400 insurgents since the preceding year. Furthermore, a press release issued by the Ministry of External Affairs reported that 718 Naxalites surrendered within the initial four months of 2025.
