Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has issued a directive to the Civil Defence and Rescue Department, instructing them to undertake mock exercises in multiple cities across the province. The oversight of these activities has been delegated to the respective district administrations. The Civil Defence Department is entrusted with the institutional mandate of providing assistance and support to the population in times of emergency. In the aftermath of recent attacks on Pakistani soil, Maryam Nawaz has mandated the police, local administration, and other pertinent institutions to establish a continuous vigil in Lahore, Gujranwala, Chakwal, Rawalpindi, Attock, Bahawalpur, and other cities of Punjab, with a particular emphasis on providing medical assistance to the victims of the preceding drone attacks.
