A joint operation carried out by the Carabinieri of the Ecological Operations Unit of Ancona, with the assistance of the NOE of Brescia, Bologna, Perugia, Bari, the Provincial Command and the Company of Osimo, and the Regional Environmental Protection Agencies (ARPAM), resulted in the seizure of an unauthorised facility of approximately 35,000 square metres in the Ancona area. Within this facility, an estimated 60,000 cubic meters of waste were being processed unlawfully. It included green waste combined with plastic, iron, demolition aggregates, and materials gathered from the Marche coastline. Investigations revealed the unlawful storage of approximately 5,000 tons of waste, with no separation of materials, and its processing in violation of national environmental protection legislation. Six individuals have been charged by the relevant judicial authority. Inspections are being conducted in several Italian provinces, including Rimini, Mantua, Modena, Ravenna, and Foggia.
