Livorno, illegal discharge of untreated wastewater

Local media sources indicate that the Carabinieri Forestale of Cecina, in the Province of Livorno, Italy, has identified an instance of untreated domestic wastewater released into a drainage channel in a rural environment. This discovery occurred during a standard inspection, which revealed that effluent originating from a five-cubic-meter tank equipped with a blower pump was exiting the sewage system and being deposited into the aforementioned channel without undergoing any prior processing. A civil penalty has been issued to an individual for contravening environmental statutes about the unauthorized discharge of residential wastewater.
