What happened

Seremban police arrested the owner of a premises involved in the sale of industrial fuel during the investigation of a water pollution incident at the Sungai Linggi water treatment plant. Police chief Hatta Che Din said the man was arrested following a complaint regarding the contamination. The complaint was from the production executive officer of Syarikat Air Negeri Sembilan (SAINS), informing the police that there was water contamination in the river after discovering an oil spill at the Sungai Linggi plant. Hatta said the investigation continues under Section 430 of the Penal Code for mischief affecting water supplies. Meanwhile, water samples from the treatment plant collected and analysed by the environment department confirmed that the water is safe for use.
