According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, in three separate intelligence-led operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, two soldiers aged 26 and 28 lost their lives, and a total of 15 terrorists were killed. Following reports of the presence of militants in the Karak district and the Gomal Zam area of the South Waziristan district, an exchange of gunfire ensued. According to official sources, arms and ammunition were recovered from the deceased terrorists, who were actively involved in numerous terrorist activities. Sanitation operations to eliminate any other terrorists present in the said areas are underway. Militant violence and security operations have escalated since March, when the number of terrorist attacks exceeded 100, according to estimates by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS).
