False bomb threat at Turin hotel

The security personnel of the hotel in Turin that was hosting the wife of US Vice President Usha Chilukuri Vance alerted law enforcement because of the delivery of a suspicious package late on Sunday evening, 9 March, as required by security protocols. In response, the Turin police activated the anti-sabotage protocol, deploying the Bomb Department (Italian: Artificieri) of the Carabinieri to the hotel premises. The remediation procedures were concluded swiftly, yielding negative results due to the absence of bombs or dangerous materials in the package.
