A suspected gas leak in a building in the San Siro district of Milan was reported to firefighters by a local gas supplier. During the verification operations, it was ascertained that the rooms of an apartment on the first floor of the building were saturated with carbon monoxide due to a malfunctioning boiler. The density of the gas within the rooms necessitated the evacuation of 20 residents of the building as a precautionary measure. Following the completion of remediation operations by the firefighters in the affected area, the residents were permitted to return to their apartments. Mechanical fans were utilised to ensure adequate ventilation on the premises. Neither property nor people suffered any damage.
