A bomb threat was reported at a bank located in the historic center of Noto in Sicily. The alert concerned a suspicious package believed to contain an explosive device. Law enforcement personnel, supported by bomb disposal experts, intervened to carry out the necessary inspections, cordoning off and temporarily restricting pedestrian access to the area. Following thorough verification, the alert was deemed unfounded, and no explosive material was found. The area was subsequently reopened to the public. Investigations are currently underway to identify the source of the report. The incident occurs in the context of a recent recurrence of false alarms in the same urban area—an aspect being considered by authorities as part of the ongoing inquiry.
