From 18 to 20 June 2025, ten Moldovan trainers took part in a “Train-the-Trainer” (TTT) course at the UNICRI headquarters in Turin, as part of the EU-funded project “From CBRN Crime Scene to Courtroom”. The initiative, supported by the European Union, aims to enhance Moldova’s ability to investigate, prosecute, and adjudicate chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) crimes. Due to its proximity to unstable regions and its role as a transit country, Moldova is particularly vulnerable to CBRN threats. The project provides an integrated approach that links field response to legal proceedings, with the goal of building a coordinated and effective national response. All five training modules have now been completed, and the full training package has been handed over to Moldovan institutions, including the National Institute of Justice and the Police Academy. Between 2025 and 2027, nine additional advanced courses will be held for approximately 300 justice and security professionals, helping to strengthen the country’s institutional resilience to CBRN threats.
