A 24-year-old Moroccan national residing in the province of Bergamo is under investigation for inciting crime using digital tools. A personal, IT, and home search was carried out by the Bologna DIGOS and the Bologna Cybersecurity Operations Centre under the direction of the Bologna District Anti-Terrorism Directorate. Launched in 2022 as part of the systematic monitoring of online content potentially linked to radical propaganda, the investigation led to the identification of a social media profile followed by over 5,000 users. The account had published more than 300 reels, including at least 60 containing material associated with jihadist narratives, such as nasheed chants, images of Islamic State fighters, and explicit references to armed jihad. The flagged content included audiovisual materials glorifying suicide attacks, symbolic imagery featuring the ISIS emblem superimposed on religious texts, and references to well-known jihadist figures. Detailed forensic analysis of the seized digital devices is currently underway.
