Viasat, a California-based satellite and wireless communications company, has been identified as a victim of a surveillance-focused cyberattack attributed to a group linked to the Chinese government. The breach, discovered earlier this year, is part of a broader espionage campaign that also affected companies like Verizon, AT&T, and Lumen Technologies.
In a statement, Viasat confirmed an investigation into unauthorized access through a compromised device but reported no evidence of customer impact. The company added that the incident has been remediated, and no further related activity has been detected. The FBI is working with affected companies, but officials have declined to name specific victims.
