The Regional African Swine Fever (ASF) Task Force of the Department of Agriculture in the Caraga Region (DA-13) has detected new ASF cases in the town of Socorro, Surigao del Norte. Dr. Ashley Mae Abaday-Nono, the ASF coordinator of DA-13, said they are coordinating with the local government in Socorro to conduct massive disinfection operations in the ASF-affected areas. These are Barangays Rizal, Navarro, Sungcoy, and Del Pilar. Nono added that checkpoints around the city have been alerted to ensure that no hogs or meat products go in and out of Socorro.
