Iraq’s Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority has not detected any radioactive leak in the country so far, following strikes on nuclear facilities in neighbouring Iran. Sabah Al-Husseini, the authority’s Director of Prevention and Radiation, said the authority continues to monitor the situation through its early warning network spread throughout Iraq. He added that radiation inspection gates at border crossings are operational and have not registered any increase in radiation on Iraqi territory. A National Response Plan is ready to be activated in the event of any potential emergency.
