Ukraine Ministry of Environmental Protection warned about a localized decline in air quality in Kyiv after a massive Russian attack with drones and missiles on June 17. The situation on the right bank of the Ukrainian capital appears stable, with low pollution levels and radiation levels also within normal values. On the left bank, however, the Air Quality Index (AQI) is 80 due to an increased concentration of fine particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10) after the attack and resulting fires. Until the situation improves, residents living in districts with high pollution levels should limit time spent outdoors, avoid ventilating indoor spaces, and stay hydrated. The Ministry said that these precautions are especially important for people with breathing or cardiovascular problems.
