A hazmat team was deployed to Woonsocket High School in Rhode Island to address a radioactive emergency. According to officials, a teacher in the building was looking through items in the science lab and opened an unmarked box labeled radioactive. This caused school meters to go off the chart, leading to an emergency call to authorities. Superintendent Patrick McGee said no students were inside the building at the time of the incident. The hazmat team took the box, which contained an old science kit with low-dose radioactive material used to teach students. The incident is considered solved, and the school will be open as usual on Wednesday (June 11).
