On June 7, an explosion took place in a two-stories house in Mardan, a town located in the Valley of Peshawar and the second-largest city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. According to police officer Zahoor Babar Afridi, the explosion was caused by a gas cylinder that caused the roof to collapse and resulted in the deaths of six people, while two girls sustained injuries. Rescue teams were able to rescue eight people, including a woman and an unspecified number of children. All victims and injured were transported to the hospital.
