What happened

According to local police sources, an explosion in the Killi Mangal area, near Quetta, Balochistan, resulted in two fatalities and injuries to eleven individuals. The intended target of the attack was a well-known person who owned a coal mine and had been subjected to extortion. Initial reports suggest that approximately one hundred armed individuals planted explosive devices within the mine and subsequently left the area before the detonation. Security forces have arrived at the location and have initiated evidence collection at the crime scene, as well as a search operation in the surrounding area. Dr. Waseem Baig, a spokesperson for the Health Department, informed local media outlets that the injured parties have been transported to the Trauma Centre at Quetta Civil Hospital, where their conditions have been reported as stable. Local media sources indicate a rise in the frequency and intensity of militant attacks, including the adoption of novel strategies designed to maximize civilian casualties and target Pakistani security forces. Recent days have seen multiple reported terrorist attacks against government officials, with at least one of these attacks resulting in the death of the targeted individual.
