According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistani security forces have killed a total of 12 terrorists who have been linked to ‘Indian proxy groups’ in operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. In particular, seven terrorists were killed in operations in North Waziristan and Chitral districts during a gun battle following an attempt to attack a security forces checkpoint in the Shawal area. The confrontation resulted in the fatalities of four soldiers. Earlier, security forces had eliminated five terrorists associated with ‘Indian proxy groups’ in two distinct operations in Balochistan. Furthermore, arms, ammunition, and explosives were also recovered during the intelligence-based operations (IBOs). According to the ISPR, the deceased terrorists had been implicated in a series of terrorist activities, including attacks on the N-70 highway in the vicinity of Rarasham on 26 August 2024 and 18 February 2025, which resulted in the loss of 30 lives.
