Young Italian arrested in Perugia for self-training with terrorist intentions

A 24-year-old Italian man from Castiglione del Lago was arrested in Perugia for self-training with terrorist intent. Radicalized online and acting alone, he collected extensive materials on weapons and explosives, frequented dark web platforms linked to jihadist content, and attempted to produce explosive devices. The arrest followed intelligence provided by the FBI and investigations by Digos and Italy’s anti-terrorism units. No attacks were carried out.
