What happened

The Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie (IZSVe), situated in Legnaro, Padua province, Italy, will provide support to the nascent European Vaccines Hub (EVH) for Pandemic Readiness. This hub has been established for the purpose of developing and assessing vaccines and human monoclonal antibodies (H-mAbs) effective against pathogens possessing pandemic potential. The EVH represents a collaborative public-private partnership dedicated to vaccine development, initiated by HERA, the European Commission’s Authority for Emergency Preparedness and Response, through a funding agreement executed on May 22, 2025. The project, under the coordination of the Sclavo Vaccines Association, a Siena-based non-profit organization, comprises 11 beneficiary entities and 13 affiliated and associated organizations. These entities originate from seven distinct countries and include prominent European bodies actively engaged in clinical trials, vaccine development, large-scale manufacturing operations, and pandemic preparedness initiatives within their respective nations.
