Women from several communities in Kaduna gathered at the Kaduna Refinery and Petrochemical Company (KRPC) to protest chemical pollution affecting their health and livelihoods. The protesters said that a chemical emission last year caused widespread illness and destroyed crops. Mrs. Juliana Abrak from Nissi described the hardships faced by local communities, explaining that much of their fertile land is now unused out of fear of further contamination. Other residents also shared their troubles, highlighting inadequate medical care and economic difficulties. Mrs. Lydia Moses from Kapam noted that although officials documented the damage caused by the emission, the promised compensation has not been delivered.
