The Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Livorno, with the assistance of territorially responsible departments and specialized units, discovered and confiscated armaments and explosive materials during searches executed in Nuoro, Pisa, and Bologna. These operations were conducted as a component of the inquiry after a recent assault on an armored vehicle on the Via Aurelia in San Vincenzo, within the province of Livorno. Specifically, authorities seized over 200 grams of military-grade explosives, 1.5 kilograms of civilian explosives typically used in quarrying, and five detonating fuses, two of which were identified as the more hazardous detonating type. Furthermore, long and short firearms, alongside thousands of cartridges of varying calibers—including military-grade cartridges for AK47 Kalashnikov rifles, the weapon type employed in the aforementioned assault—were confiscated. Eleven individuals suspected of involvement in the armored vehicle attack were apprehended and subsequently reported to the relevant judicial body.
