What happened

According to local sources, a criminal gang has blown up the ATM of the Poste Italiane branch in Foggia. The explosion occurred during the night, causing panic among the resident population. There were no reported victims or injuries following the explosion, which caused significant material damage to the bank’s internal premises. Based on the information that has been reconstructed thus far, it appears that the ATM was destroyed using a method known as the ‘marmotta system’. It involves the insertion of explosives into the banknote slot of the machine after a withdrawal request has been made. The State Police have established a cordon in the area and initiated surveys to collect elements that may be useful for the investigation. To establish the precise dynamics of the incident, investigators also acquired images from the surveillance cameras of the post office and the local area.
