What happened

A delegation from the Parliamentary Division of the Kingdom of Bahrain participated in a virtual seminar on counterterrorism strategies. The event was organised by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), in its capacity as coordinator of the United Nations Parliamentary Associations Coordination Mechanism on Counter Terrorism. The Bahrain delegation included Ali Abdulla Al Aradi, a Member of the Shura Council, and two MPs, Dr. Ali Majid Al Nuaimi and Hanan Mohamed Fardan. The seminar presented an overview of the Valletta Principles and emphasised the role of parliamentarians in their effective implementation. Discussions also focused on recent trends in terrorist activity, their implications for national and international strategies, and cooperation between parliaments and society against terrorism.
