Andhra Pradesh, 2 Maoist cadre killed in ASR clash

In Yarlagadda panchayat, located within the Y Ramavaram mandal of Alluri Sitarama Raju district, a confrontation occurred between security forces and Maoist cadres, resulting in the death of two senior members of the Maoist organization. Security forces, having identified Maoist activity in the area, initiated gunfire. Following the exchange, the remains of two Maoists were recovered, one of whom was identified as a member of the Andhra-Odisha Special Zonal Border Committee (AOB), for whose apprehension a reward of Rs 20 lakh had been offered. Security forces also recovered two AK-47 rifles and a .303 bore weapon from the location. A search operation has been commenced to locate an estimated 15 to 20 additional Maoist individuals.
