In Thessaloniki, a 38-year-old woman was killed by an improvised explosive device (IED). The incident took place at dawn in front of a private parking facility belonging to an apartment building. A branch of the National Bank of Greece is on the building’s ground floor. Law enforcement personnel arrived at the location and established a security perimeter to collect evidence and ascertain the victim’s connection to the explosion. The woman suffered the amputation of an upper extremity as a consequence of the blast. Investigative bodies are considering the possibility that the device was in her possession. Police reports indicate that the deceased had a prior criminal record, including convictions for robbery. The explosion substantially damaged storefront windows and vehicles in the vicinity. No additional injuries or deaths were reported.
