French health authorities have issued a food safety notification after the detection of pathogenic enterobacteria within the production facility of a prominent French mineral water brand situated in Gard, near Vergèze. As a result of this notification, the company responsible for the brand has initiated a recall of approximately 300,000 75-cl bottles from the market. It has also suspended the distribution of additional half-liter containers. According to media reports, the regional health agency, ARS Occitanie, had previously requested that the brand owner cease production at the Vergèze plant due to a decline in water quality following the identification of virological agents and chemical substances. Concurrently, local health authorities have advised the complete cessation of utilization of the aquifers employed by the company to safeguard public health.
