What happened

The Annual Report released by the Dutch Military Intelligence and Security Service (MIVD) has revealed cyber espionage activities from Chinese intelligence targeting Dutch industries as part of its method to acquire advanced technologies, strengthen its military capabilities, and break free from dependency on Western technologies.
These espionage activities have been monitored since February when they first were discovered, and the Annual Report shows an increase in the scope and intensity of these attacks since then.
